Financial intermediation
We assisted a number of public and private companies in Suriname with their request for financing. Through several business relationship with local and regional financial institutions we are able to intermediate between the applicants of financing and the financial institutions.
Privatization
We developed a comprehensive plan of approach for the Suriname government with respect to rationalization and privatization of one of the state-owned enterprises as a pilot for public enterprise reform.

A number of both private and public companies was advised and assisted by our Business Advisory Services with business and financial restructuring of the core business.
Public Sector Reform Consulting
Business Advisory Services supported and advised the Suriname government on several matters concerning the sectoral development approach (key instrument for Public Sector Reform), which is formulated by the World Bank. Business Advisory Services advised the governments of Suriname and The Netherlands on implementation issues with respect to the sectoral development approach in Suriname.
Outplacement consulting
Business Advisory Services planned and executed a comprehensive outplacement program for 150 employees of a public sector enterprise.
Audit of financial institutions (central bank, commercial banks and insurance companies)
The Assurance practice has in depth knowledge on auditing enterprises in the insurance and financial sector in Suriname. The Central Bank of Suriname and the major commercial banks are audited by BDO ArbrahamsRaijmann & Partners. The Assurance practices advised and assisted ABN AMRO bank with the sale of its Surinamese branch office to the Royal Bank of Trinidad & Tobago.
Participation in committees advising the Surinamese Government
The Tax Advisory practice participated in several advisory boards of the Surinamese Government with respect to the negotiation with the Bauxite companies Suralco/Alcoa and BHP Billiton.

The Tax Advisory practice has in depth knowledge of tax issues in the Oil & Gas. We advice all major partners of the Stateoil Company Suriname.
