Complaints and Speaking up internal

The values of our organisation regard the quality of the services we provide to clients, the respect we show to our employees and the adherence to our professional, legal, and statutory requirements as being fundamental. To support these fundamental values, it is critical that everyone engaged with our firm has the ability to communicate concerns that are of importance to the success and reputation of the firm and the BDO organisation.

In addition to our commitment to these fundamental values, we have a professional requirement to comply with local laws and regulation and the principles of the Code of Ethics issued by the International Ethics Standards Board of accountants (IESBA). In accordance with those principles, if you are a partner, staff member or contractor working for us and you become aware of, or suspect matters which you consider are in breach of these obligations, we encourage you to report these in accordance with our policies or any other locally applicable policies.

The matters which may be reported using this service generally are:

  • Suspected breaches of the Code of Ethics, including failure to carry out work with due care, competence and in accordance with the relevant professional, legal and regulatory standards
  • Suspicions of theft or fraud
  • Risks to the health or safety of any person
  • Substance abuse
  • Environmental damage
  • Bullying, harassment, or discrimination
  • Suspicions of breaches of local laws or regulations including bribery or corruption or breaches of anti-money laundering requirements
  • Other matters which may impact on the reputation of the BDO Member Firms or BDO network.

Please do not use this facility in respect of employment disputes which should be resolved in accordance with local employment law.
